LGBTQ+ Support: Come As You Are
Are you LGBTQ+ and looking for a safe space to find support as you navigate the spring semester? However you identify in terms of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, this LGBTQ+ support group at the counseling center is here to support you on your journey. Join us as we navigate different topics and provide a space for you to come just as you are.

To join an ongoing group, please schedule a telemental health consultation with a counselor through the Health Portal. Instructions for how to schedule an appointment online can be found on our Getting Started page.
When meeting with a counselor, let them know that you are interested in participating in an ongoing group and they will help you sign up.
Self-Compassion

You're Not Alone: Grief & Loss Support
This group will provide a safe space for students who have experienced a recent or unresolved loss. The purpose of this group is to understand grief and how it works, so the healing process can begin. You will also learn action steps towards resolving your grief and regaining a sense of well-being.

Social Anxiety
This group is for students who are interested in learning skills to manage anxiety around social situations as well as provide individuals opportunities to try new social skills in a group setting. Students will create goals for themselves regarding social interactions and be given opportunities to practice these goals while receiving real-time feedback from group members. The goal of this group is for students to push themselves outside of their comfort zone and learn new skills to manage anxiety in social situations.

Healthy Relationships
If you're looking to improve your current relationships or develop new ones, our Healthy Relationships group is for you. The group experience will include helpful tips and skills for developing healthier, safer relationships, as well as creating a safe space to process relationship experiences and how they inform our perception of the world around us. It is BUCS' desire that, by the end of your group experience, you'll be more aware of your relationship needs and have the confidence to take actionable steps toward creating satisfying relationships.
