Undergraduate Application Fee Waiver
If you are still considering Belmont University now's the time to take the leap towards your future! You not only have time to apply for Fall 2023, but you are also still eligible for merit scholarships.

Ready to apply? Belmont accepts applications via the Common Application© or the Belmont University online application. Keep in mind that applications for admission to Belmont are considered on a rolling basis, so early submission of application materials is strongly encouraged. All applicants to the School of Music, Department of Theatre & Dance and the Songwriting major have additional application steps with dates for auditions and portfolio submission. Applicants will be notified of a decision within a few weeks of completing the application.

It is STRONGLY preferred that the application for admission be submitted prior to the submission of transcripts, recommendation letter, and other supporting application materials (with the exception of SAT or ACT scores). Submission of supporting materials prior to the application can result in a significant delay of the application process.

Request that official transcripts be sent from the high school directly to the Office of Admissions. For a transcript to be official, it may not be marked “Issued to Student.” Electronic copies are accepted from Parchment, Clearinghouse, Naviance or SCOIR (if your school participates).

Belmont is test optional. Students should select if they would like test scores to be considered when they fill out their application for admission. Should you choose to report your test scores, please request official ACT or SAT score reports be sent directly to Belmont from the relevant testing agency. Test scores will also be accepted as official if submitted on an official high school transcript. Belmont does not consider the Writing component from either the ACT or SAT and will consider the super-score for admission and scholarship purposes.

Provide the School Counselor Recommendation (or School Report Form if using the Common Application) to the appropriate person in your school counseling office and have him or her send the completed recommendation directly to Belmont.
Homeschooled students should submit one Personal Recommendation letter from someone other than a family member in place of the Counselor Recommendation.

- High Schools Outside of the US - A formal credential evaluation of your high school transcript is required for any student who has completed their education outside of the United States. Official evaluations must be course-by-course, contain a GPA (grade point average), and be sent directly from the evaluation company to Belmont. Only evaluations from an NACES accredited evaluation company will be accepted. For high school transcript evaluation, Belmont suggests using Josef Silny & Associates, SpanTran or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE).

Non US Citizens include Permanent Resident, Undocumented, DACA, TPS, Refugee, and Asylee students. While Belmont is test optional, Non US Citizen applicants are required to submit Proof of English Proficiency in addition to the items listed above before an admissions decision can be made. This requirement may be satisfied by meeting one of the following options:

Admissions Timeline
- Freshman Admission Timetable for Fall 2023:
- The application process opens on August 1, 2022 for 2023 admission consideration.
- Admission decisions at Belmont are made on a rolling basis, and all candidates with completed application files are given equal consideration throughout the admission cycle.
- The Admissions Committee will begin communicating admission decisions with applicants in mid-September.
- All admitted freshman applicants are automatically considered for academic merit scholarships throughout the admission cycle. No additional application is necessary for merit scholarship consideration. General freshman academic merit scholarship notification is included in the offer of admission.
A cumulative high school grade point average of 3.7+ is considered competitive for a general freshman academic scholarship. - Belmont’s most competitive academic merit scholarship programs require that freshman candidates for Fall 2023 have completed application files by December 1, 2022. This deadline applies only to top scholarship program consideration.
Belmont’s most competitive academic merit scholarship programs (including Archer Presidential and Faculty Scholar awards) recognize approximately the top 2 percent of freshman applicants for admission. In 2022 the average cumulative high school grade point average was 4.34 and the ACT Composite score was 33, or SAT score of 1480. Selection criteria include a review of academic and leadership accomplishments. Demonstrated financial need may also be considered. Submission of the annual Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is also required. - Other Important Freshman Dates to Remember:
- December 1 – The Undergraduate FAFSA Priority filing date for Fall 2023 enrollment
- May 1 – National Candidate Reply Date (deadline for freshman non-refundable enrollment deposit submission)
