Summer Camps

During the summer months, Belmont hosts a number of camps to serve elementary, middle and high school students. The camps are music, athletic and academic-based and are listed below. More camps and information will be added once dates, times and locations are finalized. 


Summer Academic Camps

Beetles, Bugs & Butterflies Camp Registration
Biology professor and Entomologist, Steve Murphree, will again be offering school-aged children opportunities to explore the insect world by attending day camps on the Belmont University campus. An introduction to the biology of insects and other arthropods, the courses will explore how they live, where they can be found and the potential benefit or harm they represent.


Summer Music Camps

> Strings Crossings Camp | June 18-23 for grades 9 - 12 
String Crossings is a week-long camp where students can study classical, jazz, rock, celtic, swing, and bluegrass. Students have the opportunity to study with Belmont's world renowned faculty in group classes to learn multiple genres and learn from their expertise in a small ensemble in the genre of your choice. The small ensemble concludes the week with hands-on experience in a Nashville recording studio. They also participate in an orchestra, learn improvisation techniques, enjoy faculty performances, and immerse themselves in a fun week of making music with new friends. The week concludes with a concert showcasing the orchestra and small groups.

> Summer Winds Band Camp | June 11-17 for grades 9 - 12
The Belmont University Summer Winds Band Camp is a unique summer camp event for high school students entering grades 9-12. Camp students are under the artistic guidance of the outstanding Belmont instrumental and ensemble faculty.  The goal of the camp is to provide music education opportunities that enhance student growth in public school music programs in and outside the state of Tennessee. Opportunities include wind symphony, symphonic band, jazz ensemble, and chamber music.

> Belmont Piano Camp | June 11-16 for grades 9 -12
Belmont University’s summer Piano Camp is a six-day residential experience on Belmont University’s beautiful campus in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. High-school-age pianists may study classical or jazz piano, having a daily private lesson with a member of the nationally-recognized piano faculty.  There are also daily group sessions; classes in sight-reading, improvisation and more; and evening concerts and social events.

> Summer Vocal Arts Intensive | June 25-July 1 for grades 9 -12 
The Belmont Summer Vocal Arts Intensive is a week-long immersive experience in solo and choral singing in a variety of styles. Students entering grades 9-12 will engage in rehearsals, masterclasses, and performances with the outstanding artistic faculty at Belmont University. The Summer Vocal Arts Intensive provides a unique opportunity to experience high level artistry in both classical and commercial singing. This residential camp takes place on Belmont University’s beautiful campus in downtown Nashville, Tenn.


Summer Athletic Camps

Belmont Athletics offers a number of day-camp options for individuals and teams in a variety of sports including men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, softball and track and field.
