Belmont University is a student-centered Christian community providing an academically challenging education that empowers men and women of diverse backgrounds to engage and transform the world with disciplined intelligence, compassion, courage and faith.

Belmont is among the fastest growing Christian universities in the nation with approximately 6,900 students hailing from every state and 25 countries. Since 2000, enrollment has risen from just under 3,000 to 6,918 students for 2013-14. As enrollment steadily increases, so does the quality and diversity of each new class. Incoming 2013-14 freshmen represented 45 states and eight foreign countries and scored an average of 26.4 on the ACT.

In the 2014 listing of America's Best Colleges from U.S. News & World Report, Belmont was ranked seventh and named for the sixth consecutive year as one of the top "Up-and-Coming" universities in the Regional Universities South category. Belmont was the highest ranked university in Tennessee in this category and was praised for its commitment to undergraduate teaching.
