Biography

Jenny Mills is a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting student and faculty learning, teaching, and research needs. She has worked with students at all levels and faculty from multiple colleges during her time at Belmont. In 2005, she joined the library faculty as the Coordinator of Research Services and liaison for the College of Health Sciences & Nursing, College of Pharmacy, and College of Sciences & Mathematics. In that role, she provided research and instructional support to students and faculty in those areas while also coordinating the library’s information literacy program for the BELL Core.

In 2022, Jenny became the founding director of the Medical Library, which is being developed to support the Frist College of Medicine. In this role, she develops collections to support the FCoM curriculum, provides faculty training and support, and works collaboratively with FCoM faculty and staff to integrate library services, resources, and instruction throughout the curriculum.

Prior to joining Belmont, Jenny worked at Preston Medical Library at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She completed her M.S. in Information Sciences at UTK and also holds an M.A. in History from East Tennessee State University. In 2023, she was granted membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP). Her research interests include information literacy instruction and assessment, evidence-based practice, and evidence synthesis.
