The immersion of Belmont University Occupational Therapy in the center of major healthcare and wellness networks allow exposure to leading edge client services. Students and faculty set the standards high for teaching and learning outcomes to benefit their client. Doctoral prepared faculty lead the profession in international and national level presentations, publications, and participation in professional leadership roles. Belmont offers degrees for those interested in becoming practicing occupational therapists through the following programs:
OTD Program: The Doctorate of Occupational Therapy is a doctoral degree level educational program that is offered weekdays and open to undergraduate students from any discipline. Belmont leads the OT profession in offering only one of four accredited doctoral programs (OTD) in the country for occupational therapy. The university also leads the way in innovative learning opportunities through extensive clinical experiences at the doctoral level that leads to scholarly, clinical, and research opportunities. Please include your address information when you contact us.MSOT Program: The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy is an accelerated entry-level degree program. The university offers one of ten weekend format OT programs in the country for occupational therapy assistants (OTA) to return to receive a master’s degree. Our Weekend MSOT program draws from a select group of OT practitioners from across the country, and our students travel every third weekend from as far away as California, Texas, and Washington. We give preference to Occupational Therapy Assistants, then Physical Therapist Assistants, and then other healthcare professionals.
