Application Process

Belmont Online Study Abroad Application Process: Short-Term, Faculty-Led Programs

The Belmont application is required for all Belmont students who wish to participate in a faculty- led study abroad program. 

Admission to all short term faculty-led programs is on a ROLLING BASIS and your acceptance is dependent upon when we receive your completed application materials.  Submit your $500 deposit as soon as possible in order to hold your place on the program, pending your application review and acceptance.  

Online Material Submissions

Application Form: Complete the online Short-term Faculty Led Application Form

Medical Form: Complete the online Medical Information form with your relevant emergency contact, current medications and medical conditions.   

Passport Copy: Scan and email a copy of your passport to the Office of Study Abroad.  If you do not currently have a passport, please apply for one immediately and notify the Office of Study Abroad (OSA) via email that you have applied.  Click here for more information about passports and visas. 


Signature Documents

Statement of Agreement: This is your acknowledgement of awareness of Belmont study abroad policies and procedures. Review the Statement of Agreement, sign electronically and submit online. 


Belmont only requires one recommendation from a Belmont faculty member who has taught you recently.   You will need to email your professor the following link after you have confirmed that they would be willing to provide you with a recommendation: recommendation form.  Your professor can submit the recommendation online.

Application Fee or Program Deposit

For Short-term Faculty Led Programs:

  • $500 eDeposit submitted to OSA by online payment through your myBelmont account. Deposits can be made via credit card or eCheck. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of the program fee. By submitting this deposit your space on a program will be held pending review of your application materials and acceptance. Application Review & Acceptance

Upon review and completion of academic, financial and disciplinary clearances by the Office of Study Abroad (OSA) you will receive an email of your acceptance or denial for your study abroad program.  This email will contain two signature documents that you must print and return to our office prior to departure. 

  • Student Participation Agreement
  • Disclosure and Release Form

Students whose application raises questions will be asked to come in for a meeting with the OSA.
