Faculty/Staff Interest

Interested in leading or developing a trip, but don't know how to start? Fill out the form below and we'll get in touch.

As Belmont on Mission seeks to grow beyond what is currently offered to students, we are looking for faculty and staff to partner with us. There are many opportunities for partnership with University Ministries (UM) including: 1) Be a Staff/Faculty Trip Advisor on a domestic immersion trip, 2) Be a Staff/Faculty Trip Leader on an international mission trip, and 3) Plan a Discipline-Specific trip for students from a particular discipline with support from the Belmont Missions Staff.

Models of Faculty/Staff Engagement

Belmont on Mission UM Planned
  • Student-led and faculty/staff advised in partnership with a domestic faith-based organization.
  • 4-day Plunge Trip for Freshman (Fall Break) or 7-day Immersion trip (Spring Break).
  • Student leaders work with host partners and Belmont on Mission Staff to develop itinerary, execute pre-trip requirements, and lead daily debrief reflection with groups.
  • UM manages all logistics including registration, payment, travel, lodging, food, itinerary, and training.
  • Faculty/Staff advisors drive students, manage on-trip payment, and support student leaders in their leadership.
  • Trip leaders’ costs are covered 100%.

In addition to the above details, international trips have these additional components:

  • Option for longer trips, and led by faculty/staff (instead of students) in partnership with an international faith-based organization.
  • Over Spring Break, trips focus on Central America and the Caribbean to maximize potential for students. Over May/Summer, focus expands to include global destinations located farther away.
