Dr. Ted Peetz joined Belmont University and the Department of Sport Administration in the Fall of 2012. Dr. Peetz earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Sport Education Leadership from the University of Nevada Las Vegas; a Master of Education in Sport Management from Bowling Green State University; and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Kansas State University.
Prior to joining the faculty at Belmont, he coordinated the Sport Management Program at Iowa Wesleyan College where he taught courses in sport marketing, sport facility management, sport law and organizational behavior. In addition to his teaching responsibilities he also coached the men’s and women’s golf teams. During his graduate work he served as a teaching/ research assistant at both UNLV and Bowling Green State University. His research interests include sport consumer behavior and the effectiveness of celebrity athlete endorsers.
Dr. Peetz has presented his work at national and international conferences and is a member of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) and the Sport Marketing Association (SMA). Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he is an avid Green Bay Packer fan who enjoys spending time playing golf and finding great music.

Dr. Kristi F. Oshiro, joined the Department of Sport Administration as an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration in the Fall of 2020. She earned a Ph.D. in Kinesiology (Sport Management) from Texas A&M University (TAMU), a M.S. in Kinesiology (Sport Management) and a B.S. in Sport Studies with a minor in psychology from East Carolina University (ECU) where she was a student-athlete.
Prior to joining the faculty at Belmont University, Dr. Oshiro served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at TAMU where she taught a variety of courses including Diversity in Sport Organizations, International Sport Business, Sport Governance, and Sport Marketing. In addition, she has sport industry experience working in media relations at ECU and serving as a high school softball coach.
Dr. Oshiro’s research interests include two primary and interrelated areas of inquiry: 1) Diversity, inclusion, and social justice in sport with a focus on the intersection of race and gender. And, 2) Sport marketing, the utility of new media studies, and the implications this creates in and through sporting spaces. She has presented at national and international conferences and is a member of the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport (NASSS), the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM), and is on the Board of Advisors for the Sporting Justice Collective.
Born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii, Dr. Oshiro enjoys traveling, surfing, longboarding, playing the ukulele and being a dog mom.

Dr. Adam G. Pfleegor joined the Department of Sport Administration as an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration in the Fall of 2016. He earned a Ph.D. in Kinesiology (Sport Management) from Louisiana State University, a M.A. in Applied Health Sciences (Sport Philosophy) from Brock University, and a B.A. in Physical Education from The College at Brockport, State University of New York.
Prior to joining the faculty at Belmont University, Dr. Pfleegor has served as an Assistant Professor of Recreation and Sport Management at Florida International University and an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration at Mississippi State University. He has taught a variety of courses including sport ethics, sport law, sport facility management, graduate sport seminar, and sport sociology.
Dr. Pfleegor’s research interests and expertise include ethics and philosophy of sport, sport history, and sport and recreation facilities. He has published in a variety of journals and regularly presents his work at both national and international conferences including the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport (IAPS) and the North American Society for Sport History (NASSH).
Born and raised in upstate New York, Dr. Pfleegor is an avid fan of LSU football and the New York Rangers. During his free time he enjoys long distance running and playing golf.

Dana Drew Shaw, J.D., joined the Department of Sport Administration as an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration in the Fall of 2017. She graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law as a published member of the Law Review. Dana also earned her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Toledo as a student-athlete.
Prior to joining the Belmont faculty, she taught Legal and Ethical Issues in Sports Management, Globalization of Sport, and Practicum in Sports Administration in the MSA program at Northwestern University as well as Sport Ethics at Valparaiso University. Dana has also worked with coaches, administrators, and athletes advising on contract negotiations and investigations, as well as Title IX policy review, compliance, and training initiatives. Having lived and worked in Europe for over 11 years, she acquired extensive international experience in the sports world including negotiating and drafting contracts, advising a multinational company, and teaching legal concepts pertaining to sport at the University of Urbino (Italy) School of Law.
Dana’s research interests and expertise include legal issues of sport, intercollegiate athletics, and Title IX. She is a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Committee for Diversity and Inclusion as well as the Sports Lawyers Association.
Born into a basketball family, Dana enjoys coaching, watching, and anything basketball. She is married to Casey Shaw and they have four children, Anna, Isaiah, Caleb, and Luke.

Dr. Stephen Shin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sport Administration. Dr. Shin earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Sport Administration from the University of New Mexico; a Master of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse; and a Bachelor of Physical Education in Sports and Leisure Studies from Yong In University.
Prior to joining the faculty at Belmont, Dr. Shin was an Assistant Professor at Northern State University in South Dakota and a Full-time Instructor at East Tennessee State University. He has instructed a variety of courses which include Organizational Behavior and Leadership in Sport, Financial Aspects of Sport, Globalization of Sport, and Research Methods in Sport.
Dr. Shin’s research interests lie in the areas of organizational behavior/leadership and diversity/inclusion in intercollegiate athletics based on socio-cultural perspective. He has delivered papers at various national and international conferences which include the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM), the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport (NASSS), the Sport Marketing Association (SMA), and the Sport & Recreation Law Association (SRLA).
Dr. Shin is originally from Seoul, South Korea. He has a beautiful wife, Joy and they have two children, Saimee and Caleb. In his leisure time, he enjoys camping and playing golf.
