FitRec Instructional Series

FitRec is proud to announce its new Instruction Series!

For many people, gyms and fitness studios can be intimidating places. Even though they want to get involved, the number of people, the strange-looking equipment, and the complex movements all add up to one thing: Gym-timidation. Over the past years, FitRec has worked to provide educational programming that aims to teach students how to use some of these pieces of equipment in their workout so that all participants are able to reap the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. These events in the past - Ladies Night, FitFest, etc. - have been large, one-time events that certainly served this purpose but failed to make fitness instruction available to all.

With this in mind, FitRec has designed its new Instructional Series that will offer micro-sessions two times a week. These sessions will include a variety of topics, such as...

  • Resistance bands
  • Programming a Workout
  • Kettlebells
  • Sandbags
  • Foam Rolling
  • Basics of Yoga
  • More to be announced!

By offering these opportunities, FitRec hopes to break down the barriers that have traditionally kept participants from partaking in fitness activities. The sessions will be held to smaller capacities in order to ensure that all of those who attend get the opportunity to ask questions about the topic and learn from one of FitRec's nationally-certified personal trainers.
