Piano Ensemble

Piano Ensemble

Our program offers exciting opportunities for rigorous training in classical and jazz keyboard styles, emphasizing performance in a variety of venues, both solo and in ensemble.  The piano faculty are committed to developing skills appropriate to our various majors: Performance, Composition, Music Education, Church Music, Music Theory, and Commercial Music.

Piano Ensemble, directed by Dr. Kristian Klefstad, provides pianists an opportunity to learn and perform literature written for more than one piano or for piano duet. Membership is limited to 12 pianists.  Requirements for membership include good sight-reading skills and moderately advanced technique.

Piano Master classes are held each semester. Annually, the guest artists of the Woods Piano Concert Series and the Jazz Piano Concert Series give a master class to students. These master classes gives students the opportunity to further their skills.
