Christopher Rymes

Christopher Rymes serves as the commercial trumpet instructor and director of the Jazz Band II ensemble for the School of Music at Belmont University. A native of New Hampshire, Chris received his Master of Music in performance from Belmont University and Bachelor of Music in performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.  Chris has performed with world-renowned musicians including Blood Sweat & Tears, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Chattanooga Symphony Pops, Maria Schneider,  Sheryl Crow,  Bijon Watson, Steve Patrick, Peter Erskin, Lewis Nash, Steve Smith, John Fedchock, Clay Jenkins, and Eguie Castrillo. He has appeared at the Jazz Education Network Conference, the Beantown Jazz Festival and performed as a member of the theater orchestra for Royal Caribbean International cruise line.

In addition to his teaching on and off campus, Chris remains an active member of the Nashville music community, frequently performing with big bands, pit orchestras, funk and soul artists as well as classical brass ensembles. A founding member of The 615 Horns, he is frequently in the recording studio and can be heard on albums ranging from pop, to big band, jazz, fusion, rock, folk, country and mariachi.
