9th Annual Antimicrobial Stewardship Symposium

This symposium brings together key stakeholders and infectious disease practitioners from across Tennessee, the southeastern US, and beyond. Pharmacists, physicians, nurses, infection preventionists, and microbiologists learn and share important information about infectious diseases, as well as discuss ways to work together as a medical community to improve appropriate antimicrobial use and mitigate the risks associated with inappropriate use. Additionally, continuing education credit is available for pharmacists, physicians, and nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this symposium, learners should be able to: 

  • Discuss how to appropriately utilize current literature to maximize stewardship impact in your facility
  • Identify resources available to assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of antimicrobial stewardship programs
  • Discuss optimization of antimicrobial therapy for certain infections based on evidence-based medicine and local susceptibility information

  1. The Symposium is held in the Janet Ayers Academic Center Conference Center. The Janet Ayers Academic Center (Ayers, building #8 on map) is located at the corner of 15th Ave S & Wedgewood Ave. 
  2. Free parking is available in the Ayers Parking Garage (P1 & P2 on map) located underneath the building with elevator access to all floors. 
  3. The Symposium is held on the 4th Floor and accessed from the North Elevators inside the Ayers Parking Garage.
