"You Dont Have To..."
Unfortunately, most Christians get married for roughly the same reasons as non-Christians. In this talk I argue for the wisdom of focusing on spiritual purpose, according to Matthew 6:33, as providing the best foundation for a fulfilling marriage. I talk about why basing the choice on sexual chemistry, romantic feelings, and even relational compatibility has failed previous generations, and how the younger generation can make wiser choices about who they marry.

This is a sex-positive message that addresses the biblical celebration of sexuality as a gift of God--a gift that helps us grow in holiness, not something that is contrary to God's will.
Tuesday, February 5
Giving, Not Getting.
"I"m not getting any tonight" is an all too common phrase that describes our culture's view of sexuality--that it's all about getting, and that therefore being a virtual "predator" in seach of the next sexual experience is what we live for. This attitude not only offends God's purpose for marriage, but it creates exactly the wrong kind of heart to enjoy sexual intimacy long term within marriage.
Wednesday, February 6
This talk looks at the biblical and even neurochemical purpose of sex within marriage, and shows that the very thing that makes sex so healthy within marriage is what makes it so destructive prior to marriage. We'll look at how sexual promiscuity trains our brains to ignore what God created sex to do in a couple's minds and hearts.

Website: Justin & Trisha Davis
Justin and Trisha Davis returned to ministry in 2009 following a four year journey of restoration. After successfully planting their first church, Justin had an affair with a staff member, who was also Trisha's best friend. For two months, their marriage was on life support. Over the next several months, the Davis' found grace, love and redemption for their hearts and their marriage. In 2009, they founded RefineUs Ministries, INC in hopes of changing The Church by sharing their story of marriage, ministry, failure and loss. They are bloggers, authors, teachers and Justin is a pastor at Cross Point Church in Nashville, TN, where they reside with their three boys.

Intimacy Broken and Restored (Beaman A&B)
How do we allow God to know the darkest parts of our heart? How do we allow another person to know the broken parts of us? Justin and Trisha Davis have seen God take the messed up, sexually broken, sinful parts of their story and redeem it. God can do the same for you as well.
In addition to the morning and afternoon sessions, Belmont's Faith Development Organizations (FDO) will host group discussions in the evenings.
