Spring Pre-Orientation Checklist

Register for Spring Orientation

Due Date: Starting in November 2019

Summer Orientation is designed to complete key enrollment functions such as academic planning. Students must submit their enrollment deposit in order to register for Summer Orientation. Important registration information is located here.

Sign Up for 'Belmont Alerts' 

Due Date: Starting in December 2019

Belmont Alerts is Belmont University’s emergency messaging system. Starting in December, 2019, you will be able to sign up to receive text alerts and/or voice calls in the event of a campus closure or emergency. When the time comes, please add your cell phone number to the Belmont Alerts system. To do this, sign in to myBelmont and select Belmont Alerts from the Campus Security and Safety folder on the left side of this page. Once the Belmont Alerts page opens, use the “Contact Type” field to enter the cell phone and landline numbers that you want to receive Belmont Alerts and indicate if each number should receive texts and/or voice calls. You are welcome to add family members to these contacts. Once finished, simply close the Belmont Alerts window. For more information, click here for Belmont Alerts.

Complete Housing Form

Due Date: As soon as you receive your enrollment confirmation email.

Once you have been officially accepted to the university and paid your enrollment deposit, it's time for you to complete your online housing application through your myBelmont account.  Click here to learn about the housing form.

Submit Health Insurance/Immunization Forms 

Due Date: Before First Day of Classes

Belmont University requires that all students submit a completed Belmont University Medical History Form, Immunization Record, and verification of health insurance by the end of your Summer Orientation session. Click here for instructions on submitting these documents. 

Register for Belmont's Leadership Connections

Due Date: Right Now!

Leadership Connections is designed for First Year Students and New Transfer Students who are interested in continuing their leadership journey at Belmont. Students taking advantage of this initiative will have the opportunity to participate in various leadership trainings, positions, and opportunities. During your first semester on campus, be on the lookout for various Leadership Connections emails giving you directions on new opportunities and next steps. Set Up Your BruinPrint Account 

Welcome to BruinPrint, Belmont's student print station system. Operating through a network of hi-speed printers located throughout the academic buildings and many of the dorms, BruinPrint will offer a variety of printing options including Print Anywhere. This special feature will allow students to send print jobs from their phones, tablets, personal laptops, or from campus computer labs for pickup at any BruinPrint station on campus. The BruinPrint system provides a consistent user experience while also meeting the diverse printing needs of Belmont University's student body. Click here for complete information on BruinPrint.

Confirm Your Major

Due Date: December 20, 2019

New students may view their major in their “Degree Works” after their enrollment confirmation/deposit has been processed by Enrollment Services. To access Degreeworks, login into your "myBelmont" account, and click the “Registration” drop down menu; then click “Degreeworks (student)”. Make sure you allow pop-ups in your computer settings in order to open Degreeworks. At the top of the new window, you should see your selected major.

If you wish to change your major prior to Summer Orientation, contact your Admissions Counselor. Once you register for classes, you may access the change of major form on the Registrar’s website and follow the instructions as provided if you wish to change your major in the future. Students who are enrolled in classes will send the change of major form to the Registrar’s office for processing.

Remove Your Policy Hold

Due Date: Prior to Spring Orientation

You may find that you have a Policy Hold on your account when you log into MyBelmont. To remove the hold, click on the link that says "Review policy and remove hold" which will take you to a page that contains the full policy. Read it and acknowledge that you have read and understand the policy.

Financial Aid Checklist

Due Date: Completed throughout the fall.

Order Your Textbooks 

Due Date: An Email will be send to your campus email after you register for courses during Spring Orientation.

Bruin Books is Belmont University's completely online textbook ordering system designed to offer a seamless, price competitive and direct-ship service for all your textbook needs. The portal for ordering will be open after you register for your Spring Orientation courses. You will learn more about Bruin Books at spring orientation as well as email communication to your Belmont pop account. In the meantime, please visit Bruin Books for full details.

Register Your Vehicle or Bicycle

Due Date: During Spring Orientation

If you plan on riding in style by bringing a bicycle or a vehicle to campus in the fall, make sure you register with campus security.

Complete Alcohol Edu/Haven

Due Date: Early January

AlcoholEDU is a web-based alcohol prevention program currently used at more than 500 colleges and universities across the country. It uses the latest prevention techniques and scientific research to educate students about the impact of alcohol on the mind and body. AlcoholEdu will enable you to make informed choices regarding the use of alcohol and the behavior of peers. All survey responses are strictly confidential.

An email will be sent to your belmont account with directions on how to take AlcoholEdu and Haven in January. You then will be required to complete part 1 of Alcohol EDU and Haven by the beginning of January and complete part 2 of Alcohol Edu and Haven by mid February. Failure to complete these tasks on time will result in a hold being placed on your account.

Pay Belmont Fees

Due Date: Before First Day of Classes

Make sure you pay your bills by early January to avoid late fees or withdrawal from Belmont.
