Welcome Week

Welcome Week Logo

August 15-19, 2014

Welcome Week is a five-day program in August immediately before you begin classes. This time is designed to facilitate your ability to explore your passions and cultivate your talents; embrace everything the Belmont community has to offer you; and engage this place by seizing opportunities both in and out of the classroom.

Kick off your time at Belmont in the best way possible: alongside your peers. When you arrive in the fall, you’ll be placed in a Tower Team group (TT group). Each TT group consists of about 10 of classmates and a TT Leader, an upperclassman leader who’s been trained to guide you through Welcome Week and your first semester at Belmont. Your TT Leader has been excitedly awaiting your arrival and will be a valuable resource to you as you embark on your unique journey here at Belmont.

Program Highlights

While Welcome Week programming starts Saturday night and extends through Tuesday evening, below are some highlights of the first few days on-campus.  The 2014 Welcome Week Schedule is under development.  For an idea of all that Welcome Week has to offer please view the 2013 Welcome Week schedule.

If you are a student who was unable to attend Foundations you are required to participate in Academic Orientation.  Click here for details.

Move-In

The Office of Residence Life will mail move-in packets to all new students who will be living on campus.  This packet enables the university to create an efficient and timely process to move in more than 1,500 new students in one day.  Please follow all directions in the packet.

Refer all questions regarding your move-in time assignment to the Office of Residence Life at 615-460-5802.

Parent Attendance

We invite all parents and family members to join us for all weekend events through the Matriculation Ceremony on the morning of Sunday, August 18.  It is highly encouraged that parents and family members be prepared to leave by 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon as students will begin attending required, student-only events at 1:00 p.m.  As with Foundations, we do not provide parent and family accommodations so you will need to secure a weekend's stay at a nearby hotel if traveling from out of town.
