Caroline Locorriere is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Theatre and General Education at Belmont University. She teaches the Acting for Camera courses in the Theatre Department, as well as Film Studies in both the Theatre Department and the General Education Department. She has taught the Acting for Camera courses since 2005 and has taught such film studies courses as The Films of David Fincher: Darkness and the Human Condition, Film, Gender and Ideology, Introduction to Film Studies, and The Films of Sofia Coppola: Impermanence and Transcendence.
Before arriving at Belmont, Caroline worked as an actor in Los Angeles on film (Seabiscuit, The Sweetest Thing, The Perfect Party, Being Boiled Hurts), TV (ER, Frasier) and commercials (Sprint, Edy’s/Breyers Ice Cream, Prilosec OTC, etc.). Caroline studied for years at one of the most esteemed acting studios in the world, the Carter Thor Studio with Alice Carter and Cameron Thor. Before arriving in Los Angeles, Caroline received her MA from The Ohio State University and her BA from Samford University. At Ohio State, Caroline taught courses in Women’s Studies and worked with film theorist, Judith Mayne.
Caroline has been coaching actors for over a decade. She has worked with actors whose credits include films such as Flightplan, The Social Network, The Collection, In Time, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Nip/Tuck, Harry’s Law, Evan Almighty and more. She owns Nashville Acting Studio, an acting studio that specializes in on camera scene study for actors. Nashville Acting Studio has been a place for actors working on film, television and commercials to study since 2008.
Caroline also works as a private coach, prepping actors for auditioning for directors such as the Coen Brothers, JJ Abrams, Alan Ball and Tyler Perry, films such as The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Arthur Newman Golf Pro, Parental Guidance, Django Unchained, Texas Killing Fields etc. and television shows such as Drop Dead Diva, Vampire Diaries, Banshee, Army Wives, Glee, Revolution, Nashville, Homeland, Rectify, etc.
