Travel through Germany, including Bonn, Trier, Aachen, and Köln,Berlin, Potsdam, Leipzig, and Dresden, as you explore German political institutions and their evolution through interaction with historical events, using popular music to add context to those events and political issues.  You can also explore the special role of chemistry in the industrial development of Germany, through such products as aspirin, fertilizer, cologne, chocolate, gummy bears, and beer.

Belmont in Italy: Revolutions in Science

May 11, 2015 - May 29, 2015
Explore physics and the history and politics of science and religion from the heart of Tuscany,  the same place where Galileo began his work to become the father of experimental science.  The physics course is for non-physics majors, and will focus on the philosophical and historical roots of physics, astronomy, chemistry, medicine.
