Janet Braun works as the student advisor in the office. She received her B.S. in Corporate Finance from the University of Alabama and her M.S. in Marketing from the University of Memphis. Jan has travelled throughout Europe, China, Turkey and Canada.
Jan’s early career was in banking and finance, after which she took time off to raise her two children. She started her second career with a focus in higher education, beginning in academic support at Lake Forest College in Illinois followed by administering the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) grant process at Trinity University in San Antonio. Upon moving to Nashville, she began working with international students at Belmont and transitioned to working with domestic students who wish to study abroad. In addition to advising students, Jan also served as assistant director for the 2012 Belmont summer program in Turkey.
She is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators and the Tennessee Association of International Educators. Jan enjoys travel, reading, sewing and hiking, and she and her husband are avid baseball fans. Their goal is to visit every major league baseball park and live long enough to see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series . . . go Cubs!
