Medical Information
Students will need to contact their insurance company to confirm that they will be covered in Australia if illness occurs.
Along with regular insurance, students must have Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC). OSHC costs roughly $150 per semester, and is paid to Victoria University along with course fees. VU will then send it to Medibank Private, who handles the insurance.
This insurance helps to cover such things as doctors, prescription drugs, ambulance transport, x-rays, and hospital stays. You should receive a brochure from Australian institution's international office outlining the exact coverage and other details about the insurance.
