Belmont Online Study Abroad Application Process: Semester/Year Programs
The Belmont application is required for all Belmont students who wish to participate in a study abroad program. Students wishing to participate in a program with one of Belmont’s affiliates, exchange partners, direct enroll institutions or with CCSA, a study abroad consortium of which Belmont is the host institution, will also need to complete an application process for that program. You may complete these applications concurrently if you wish.
Online Material Submissions
Application Form: Complete the Semester/Academic Year Application form
Medical Form: Complete the online Medical Information form with your relevant emergency contact, current medications and medical conditions.
Passport Copy: Scan and email a copy of your passport to the Office of Study Abroad. If you do not currently have a passport, please apply for one immediately and notify the Office of Study Abroad (OSA) via email that you have applied. Click here for more information about passports and visas.
Statement of Agreement: This is your acknowledgement of awareness of Belmont study abroad policies and procedures. Review the Statement of Agreement, sign electronically and submit online.
External Program Approval Form: Often study abroad program applications through our Affiliate/Exchange/Direct Enroll program applications include a section or a form that requires a Belmont study abroad advisor's signature. We recommend that you meet with a member of the Study Abroad staff at least once before you request that this form be filled out.
Belmont only requires one recommendation from a Belmont faculty member who has taught you recently. You will need to email your professor with the following link after you have first confirmed that the professor is willing to provide you with a recommendation: recommendation form. Your professor can submit the form online.
For tips on requesting a recommendation, please see this handout.
For Affiliate/Exchange/Direct Enroll Semester or Academic Year Programs:
- $100 application submitted to OSA (Wedgewood Academic Center 1009) as either a check or money order made out to Belmont University. This application fee is applied toward the administrative cost of processing applications.
Application Review & Acceptance
Upon review and completion of academic, financial and disciplinary clearances by the Office of Study Abroad (OSA) you will receive an email of your acceptance or denial for your study abroad program. This email will contain two signature documents that you must print and return to our office prior to departure.
- Student Participation Agreement
- Disclosure and Release Form
Students whose application raises questions will be asked to come in for a meeting with the OSA.
