The University of East Anglia (UEA) is an Exchange program with enrollment of 15,000 students. It is located in the historic medieval town of Norwich, was recently voted by English university students to be among the highest in student satisfaction overall. Its programs in Environmental Sciences and Creative Writing have achieved international recognition.

Accommodation in all University residences is self-catering (no meal plan). Each residence contains several fully-furnished, centrally-heated, single-occupancy rooms grouped with a shared kitchen/living space. Kitchens come equipped with a fridge, freezer and oven or microwave and residents provide their own cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Students also provide their own linens, or alternatively, bedding packs can be purchased from the Accommodation Office.

Student Life

The Student Union is integral to the lives of the students and aims to help students get the most out of their time at UEA. From running the bars, club nights and gigs, to over 200 clubs and societies the Union is available right from Welcome Week to the end-of-term balls, both of which it provides. The Union runs the city-based Waterfront music venues, as well as regular film screenings, club nights and fashion shows.


Norwich (pop. 215,000) is located 120 miles northeast of London along the River Wensum. In 2012 Norwich was named England’s first UNESCO City of Literature.
