Seinan Gakuin University (enrollment 8000) is a Belmont Exchange Partner and Christian university in Fukuoka, Japan. It is consistently ranked as one of the leading private universities in Japan. Its long-established exchange program accepts international students from partner institutions around the world.

Summer: July – August (four weeks)

Language Requirement

None; all courses except Japanese language are taught in English.

The course content concentrates on Japan, including Japanese language, culture, history, tradition, business and politics

Housing

Seinan Gakuin University International House (I-House), is located 5 minutes from the campus on foot. It houses the international students and Japanese students of SGU. Showers and shared kitchens are provided each floor. There are supermarkets and many restaurants a 10-minute walk from the I-House.

Student Life

About 150 athletic, academic and cultural clubs are available to students. Off-campus activities such as trips to museums and cultural and government facilities are also organized, helping foreign students gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.

Location

Fukuoka City is situated on the island of Kyushu, the most southwestern of Japan’s four major islands. With a population of 1.3 million Fukuoka has developed into the cultural and commercial center of the island. The city enjoys a convenient geographic location with easy access to other Asian nations.
