Bonnie Marschner is the Semester Study Abroad Advisor at Belmont University. She holds a B.A in Spanish from The University of Georgia and an M.A. in International Education from The George Washington University.

She developed her passion for study abroad as a college student when she studied abroad in Cádiz, Spain for a summer and San José, Costa Rica for a semester. She also lived and worked abroad as an English teacher in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a year after she graduated from The University of Georgia. She has additionally traveled throughout western Europe, Cuba, Indonesia, Latin America, Australia, and Hong Kong.

Bonnie is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and is a proud Bulldogs football fan. She has been working in international higher education for eight years and has worked with international students as well as with American students going abroad. She enjoys advising students and finds fulfillment in encouraging and supporting students to make the most of their college experience through an opportunity abroad. Before coming to Belmont University, she worked as an International Student and Scholar Advisor at Carnegie Mellon University where she advised students on immigration and visa related issues. She also has worked for a third party provider promoting Spanish language immersion programs as well as for an English language institute.

In her free time Bonnie enjoys exploring different neighborhoods and restaurants in Nashville, cooking, running/fitness, spending time with her rescue pup Lola and her husband, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity.
