As a newly declared  social work major there are many questions that are bound to rise in your mind about courses, teachers, field placements, community involvement, balance, time management, campus involvement...just to name a few.  We have created a Mentoring program to help navigate this transition. 

Here's how it works:  Any student who is a declared social work major can request a mentor.  Any student who is in Practice or Field may sign up to be a mentor.

The commitment is one semester...though not limited to that, of course.

 We match students with Mentors and ask that the pairs have a minimum of 4 contacts per semester: this can be emails, phone calls, having coffee-whatever you two agree upon.  Each party is contacted by the social work office to give them the name and contact info of their "partner" and then the initial contact is made by the mentor.
