Rising Star Awards
For the past several years, the Department of Social Work has been pleased to be the recipient of the generosity of Jan and Elaine Williams of Knoxville, Tennessee. The Williams have a long history of giving to Belmont, beginning when their daughter, Julie Williams Hunt was an undergraduate student in social work at Belmont.
The Department came to the conclusion that the best use of the generous gift was to give it to
students who have great potential in social work as well as financial need. The Department also decided to reach as many students as possible, so the award is not repeated.
