SWK Graduate School Visits

SWK Graduate School Visits

Every spring the Department of Social Work plans a trip for the students to visit cities with great MSW programs.

In Washington, D.C. we visited historic Howard University. Additional, we visited the Holocaust Museum.

In Chicago we visited Loyola University, University of Chicago, and University of Illonis, Jane Addams School of Social Work. Our trip to Chicago, of course, included a trip to Hull House - the social work mecca.

In New Orleans we visited both Southern University and Tulane University. Of course no one had any fun in the French Quarter (not!).

The 2007/2008 school year started a new tradition for our spring student trip.  The students attend the Baccalaureate Program Directors Conference where they are able to volunteer to help at the conference, attend sessions on interesting social work topics, and speak with representatives from universities all over the country about their graduate programs.  This year's conference was held in Portland, Oregon.
