Southern Sociological Society

The Southern Sociological Society is a regional society of academics and professionals who gather yearly to promote sociology as a discipline.  Belmont University Sociology majors are encouraged to present their student research to fellow sociologists at the annual meetings in the spring.  Each April, students and faculty travel to SSS conventions to immerse themselves in various aspects of sociology.  Trips in previous years have taken students to Richmond, Virginia, and New Orleans, Louisiana , to share their academic research and learn from numerous  faculty across the south.  The 2010 Annual Meeting of the Southern Sociological Society will be held in Atlanta, Georgia.
