Nashville Shakespeare Festival (Thursdays - Sundays, Now - Sept. 7)

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival provides a vibrant addition to our summer evenings and volunteers play an important role in the Festival's success. Volunteers are needed to serve as ushers, to help with set-up and scenery assembly/load-in, and to assist in concession booths. Performances occur Thursday through Sunday evenings beginning August 14. There will be an additional performance on Monday, September 1 with the show closing on September 7. Books from Birth Volunteer Work Party (September 9, 5:30 p.m.)

Books from Birth of Middle TN provides free books for all children from birth up to age five in Davidson, Sumner, and Williamson Counties. Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas.

They will have a "volunteer work party" on Tuesday, Sept 9 at 5:30 pm at 3401 West End Ave. Contact Linda for more info

Percy Priest Lake Clean Up (September 13)

Join Team Green and the Nashville Clean Water Project at Percy Priest Lake on Saturday, September 13 to take part in Nashville's largest water clean-up project in history.

This very necessary public campaign against litter positively impacts the Lake's 24 islands and 213 miles of shoreline. Volunteers are asked to sign up for three-hour shifts. Departures to specific Lake locations are scheduled at 8:00am, 8:30am, and 9:00am.

Hands on Nashville Day (September 27)

Saturday, September 27 will be a powerhouse day of volunteering as more than 1,000 people work in 50+ metro Nashville public schools during Hands On Nashville Day. Individuals and groups are encouraged to participate in this community-transforming event.

They need Team Leaders to form teams of their friends, family, coworkers, civic groups, or alumni groups. We need Project Coordinators to lead projects at the participating schools. Training is provided. This is Nashville's largest day of community service.

Celebration of Cultures (October 3 - 5)

Celebration of Cultures exists to celebrate and embrace cultural diversity through respecting, understanding, and appreciating the cultures of the Greater Nashville population.

Volunteers are needed on Friday afternoon to help with set-up, all day on Saturday for the Festival itself, and Sunday evening to help with tear down.

Germantown Street Festival (October 11)

East Nashville's Germantown Street Festival will be October 11 with a wide array of activities including a 5K run; historic home tours; a children's area with pony rides, train rides, games, and arts activities; and 3 event stages with a broad range of musical genres. The 5K race begins at 8:00am with the full festival opening at 10:00am. Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success. Nashville Zoo Ghouls at Grassmere (October 17-19 & 24-26)

Our Halloween event features a multitude of fun, interactive activities that are not-so-scary for the whole family. Volunteers help with 20 treat stations, Monster Mash, Haunted Hayride, Gypsy Mystery Maze, Carnival Games, Boo Bounce Houses and much more.

Dress up in costume and join us for one or six nights of hair-raising fun!

4th Annual Masquerade Bowl (October 27, 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.)

People First of Tennessee, Inc. and the Tennessee Microboards Association, Inc. need volunteers to assist during their 4th Annual Masquerade Bowl at Cumberland Lanes in Antioch on October 25. From 12:00-4:00pm there will be bowling, games, food, entertainment and a costume contest. People First of Tennessee is a non-profit, self-advocacy organization run by and for people with disabilities. Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk (December 13, 7:30 - 11:00 a.m.)

Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee needs volunteers to help the day of the jingle bell run to help register runners, help direct the runners on the path and help set up the course.
