Training For Community Based Agencies

Belmont has an exciting new opportunity for community based agencies to help better communicate their needs and opportunities with our students, faculty and staff.  Beginning in fall 2014, Belmont will start using the Get Connected software platform developed by Galaxy Digital.  Get Connected is used by numerous United Way agencies around the country, and Galaxy has recently adapted it to more easily support the work that colleges and universities do in the area of service-learning and community service.  The software will allow you to post information about your agency, including needs and events, and give you a tool to enlist and manage our student volunteers coming to your agency for service-learning and other community service opportunities.

In order to have access to the Get Connected system and to insure that the interests of all parties are addressed, Belmont will be asking each agency to participate in an initial online training, annually complete a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and provide a Certificate of Insurance ($1 million liability minimum).
