Kay Smith (Casey) Long, Ed.D.

Dr. Casey Long has served Belmont University as an adjunct since the early '90s. She holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and a M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Long conducted her doctoral research at Oxford University (UK) and was an IUPUI Fellow in Philanthropy.

While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Long worked as a graduate assistant, research assistant, and teaching assistant for Dr. Terrance Deal, who co-authored the text, Reframing Organizations: Artistry, Choice & Leadership, 3rd Ed. (Jossey-Bass, 2003). She teaches Organizational Behavior in the Sport Administration Master program using Bolman & Deal's four-frame approach to organizational behavior and leadership.

Dr. Long, until recently, was pastor of personal ministries at Belmont Church on Music Row in Nashville, just blocks from the Belmont University campus. In addition to instruction on leadership, change, and organizational theory and behavior, she spoke and trained ministers in areas of personal ministry, prayer, intercession, and related subjects. Her personal interests include missions, family, travel, and reading.
