George Midgett

My name is George Midgett and I am a member of the class of 2005. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, I moved to Nashville to attend Fisk University where I played baseball (among other sports) and graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Having a passion for and being involved with sports my entire life, I knew the MSA program at Belmont was the perfect fit for me in attaining a Master's degree.

Belmont's MSA program was designed to prepare graduate students for work in the sport industry. It gave me the chance to gain information and true working experience (via internships) while in the program.

It also provided me the ability and awareness to attain a position at Vanderbilt University, where I am currently employed in the Athletic Department as the Compliance Coordinator.

This program gave me the opportunity to gain entrance into the sporting industry, a field that is very difficult to enter into without the right associations or backgrounds. I have gained many friends as well as future business associates and have been a part of numerous learning experiences that no monetary figure can be afforded.

I am truly grateful for all that this program has given me in changing fervor for sport into fruition.
