*Note: After December 1, 2009 the Spring application deadline will change to October 1, 2010 for Spring 2011 admission.

Admissions Requirements

  • Application Form:  Complete the Graduate Application and return it to Belmont University's Office of Graduate Admissions by the deadlines listed above or Apply Online.
  • Application Fee: You must submit a $50 non-refundable application fee with your application materials. Please attach a $50 check, made payable to Belmont University, with your application form.
  • Official Transcripts:You must have an undergraduate degree with a GPA of 2.75, or 3.0 in the last 60 hours. Request official transcripts from all previous colleges you have attended by calling your school or ordering them online. You must submit these in the original sealed envelope sent from the colleges. Please allow 4-6 weeks for all official transcripts to be received.
  • Test Scores: Have scores for the GRE (Graduate Record Examination), GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), or TOEFL (applicable for international students) submitted to Belmont: GRE:1-888-GRE-SCORE  or GMAT:1-800-717-GMAT. If you have taken either test within the last 5 years, call the appropriate phone number above and have them mail your results to the Office of Admissions address below. If you have not yet taken either test, you may call to schedule a GRE on-line test by calling the number 1-800-GRE-CALL or the GMAT at 1-800-717-GMAT. Please allow 4-6 weeks for all official test scores to be received.
  • Recommendation form:Have two people (non-relatives who have knowlege of your job or university experiences) complete a Recommendation Form and send it directly to the Office of Admissions. The form is required to complete the application.
  • Resume: Submit a current resume  
  • Letter: Submit a letter of professional aspiration stating your purpose for applying to the program.

  • Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA): Complete the GTA Application *and submit by the deadline listed above.  If applying for a GTA position, you must also have your MSA application completed and mailed in by February 1.  Please send GTA application to:

  • Interview: Applicants being considered for admission will be issued an invitation for an on-campus interview, and will be required to schedule a date and time with the selection committee and faculty before final approval.  The dates for these interviews are:  Friday, 13 November, 2009; Monday, 16 November, 2009; and Friday, 4 December 2009.

Application Status: To check on the status of your application or to ask a question about the Admissions process, you can email or call 615.460.6189. Sport Administration will be accepting applications based on the schedule listed above. Due to the volume of applications received, it is strongly recommended that all materials are submitted two weeks prior to admissions deadlines.  Final approval for admission to the program will be determined by the Sport Administration Admissions Committee.

Note: Students beginning the Master of Sport Administration Spring 2010 semester will need to attend the mandatory orientation meeting on Monday, January 11, 2010. The meeting will be held in the Sport Science Center Lobby from 5:00 - 6:30 pm.   This will be a time to speak with our Director, Dr. Amy Baker, faculty, staff, and current students in an informal setting.   Information regarding campus events, regulations, as well as, academic advising will be addressed in the meeting.
