COVID-19 Reporting

COVID-19 DATA REPORTING

In order to keep our community informed, Belmont University will provide weekly reports on positive COVID-19 cases within its campus community. This reporting:

  • Is based on positive tests administered or confirmed by Belmont’s Department of Health Services, for students, faculty and staff who are living, working or attending in-person classes on Belmont’s campus in Nashville. Positive tests not administered by or otherwise reported to and/or confirmed by Health Services are NOT reflected in this data.
  • Does NOT account for students, faculty and staff who are studying, teaching or working 100 percent remotely this semester.

Positive case data will be updated every Monday to allow us to protect individuals’ privacy. However, as circumstances require, Belmont will communicate directly to the campus community as frequently as necessary to keep everyone well informed.

POSITIVE CASE PROTOCOLS

When a student or employee tests positive for COVID-19, they immediately enter into the University’s Isolation protocol. Residential students may isolate in a dedicated Belmont isolation space or return to their permanent address. Commuter students and employees will isolate in their homes. All campus members who receive a positive test will also receive consistent communications from Belmont’s Health Services team, and students in isolation will be cared for by the Student Care and Support team. Additional details on these measures, as well as protocols related to quarantine, can be found on the Health & Safety Protocols page.

CITY AND STATE-WIDE DATA

Among many other data points being monitored by Belmont leadership are those for metropolitan Nashville and the state of Tennessee. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County maintains a COVID-19 response dashboard, ASafeNashville.org, with information and data on the coronavirus’ impact locally and the current phase of reopening for the county. The State of Tennessee dashboard offers similar information on conditions within the state and within each county in the state.
