New Applicant Process

RA Selection Logo

For any Belmont student interested in applying to be a New RA, there are three steps to the process. As the process moves forward, any applicant will be informed of their status after each step. At any point, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your RD or the RA Selection Committee.

First, you should submit an application for the “Residence Life-Resident Assistant (RA) 2013” position on jobs.belmont.edu. All applications are due by midnight on January 25, 2013. Once all of the applications are submitted the RD staff will review applications and make decisions about who will move forward to the next phase of the process.

The second part of the RA Selection process is Group Process Day. Any student whose application is moved forward in the process will have an opportunity to sign up for a Group Process Day, and those days will take place from Monday, February 18 through Thursday, February 21. Group Process Day will consist of a set of activities that will be facilitated by RDs so candidates can demonstrate their ability to do the RA job.

The third and final part of the RA Selection Process is the individual interview. After Group Process Day, applicants who are offered an interview will have an opportunity to schedule their 20-minute interview with a team of RDs. Interviews will take place Tuesday, February 26 through Thursday, February 28. Final decisions about RA hiring will be made on Friday, March 1 and candidates will informed of their status and placement in a complex.

Want more information about what it takes to be an RA? Come to an RA Interest Session from 5:30-7pm on January 15th and 16th in Beaman A and B. Hear from some current Resident Assistants about their experiences and ask the Residence Directors any questions you may have about this leadership opportunity.

The RA Selection Team hopes that you are interested in applying and we look forward to meeting you!
