Belmont University's Department of Political Science offers the many advantages of a small private college atmosphere.
Our classrooms are well equipped with multimedia technology and all classes are taught by highly qualified professors. Special emphasis is placed upon teaching, advising, and active student interaction.
Classes at Belmont are kept purposely small to facilitate a nurturing learning environment, where each student is offered individual guidance and mentoring. For example, upper-division courses in Political Science usually range in size from seven to twenty-nine students. This type of environment cultivates an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect.
In addition, professors work closely with students outside of classes as advisors for course and career options.
The ultimate goal of the Belmont program is to provide a rigorous and challenging course program that cultivates an attitude of student self-responsibility and curiosity that transcends the formal classroom. The successes our students have enjoyed after graduation in their professional or graduate school experiences tell us we are achieving these objectives!
