Hi! My name is Michael Waters and I grew up in Florence, SC, where I attended West Florence High School.  After graduating from Furman University in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, I joined that school’s admission staff and began my career in the field of college admission.  In 1991, I earned a master’s degree in counseling from Georgia State University and then served for the next eleven years as the Director of College Counseling at Brentwood Academy in suburban Nashville.  Heeding the call to return to a university setting, I joined the admission staff here at Belmont in 2005.

I feel fortunate to work in a Christian community that not only values learning and service, but also challenges students to identify and follow God’s purpose for their lives.  If the idea of spending four years of your life in such a setting appeals to you, come visit and see if Belmont is the right place for you.
