What makes Belmont's PR program unique?
Although the major is quickly growing, the classes remain small allowing for personal attention and class discussions. Our major provides students with professors and advisers who are professionals within the field and who can provide real-world experience and advice. As stated before, our PR program is interdisciplinary as it combines Communication Studies, Journalism and Marketing.
The classes engage students with projects that encourage involvement within the community and leave them with hands-on experience that they can add to their resumes. The professors truly believe in not using only the textbooks, but real practice within the professional world as a teaching tool. Because of our strong connection to PRSA and the community, professors often bring in guest speakers who provide even more real-world experience and advice.
With small classes, students really get to know each other as well as their professors and people in the community. Lastly, the professors at Belmont strive to train ethical, skilled and cutting-edge professionals so students graduate ready for the competitive job market.
