About  Dr. Chumney

Dr. Chumney has worked for the Institute of Medicine, the World Health Organization, and most recently the Medical University of South Carolina's College of Pharmacy (now the South Carolina College of Pharmacy). While there, she developed and directed a highly successful Dual PharmD/MBA program.

She has recently published a book, Methods and Designs for Outcomes Research (2005), 18 peer-reviewed journal articles, and numerous abstracts. In doing this research, Dr. Chumney's primary areas of interest are cost-effectiveness analyses of chronic disease states such as diabetes and HIV/AIDS as well as health disparities. She also enjoys research on the evolution of pharmacy education and policies.

Dr. Chumney joined the BUSOP faculty in September of 2007 as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Chair of the Admissions Committee. She and her husband Wade have three children (Morgan, Mary Elinor, and Gray) and a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Augustus.
