Ph.D. (Pharmaceutics), The University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS
B.S. (Pharmacy), The University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS
Dr. Stodghill’s general areas of research include the development and characterization of drug delivery systems. Specific research interests include the physical chemical characterization of solids including crystal forms, solid-solutions and polymeric films produced by hot-melt extrusion technology. Additional interests include the thermodynamics, and the development of admicelles and adsolubilization as a novel drug delivery platform.
As an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Stodghill’s teaching responsibilities include the Pharmaceutics I and II series as well as the companion labs. This series of two courses covers pharmaceutical dosage forms and drug delivery systems. The courses concentrate on fundamental principles and definitions, and the basic science of formulation, development, testing, production and distribution of safe, effective and reliable drug delivery systems. The companion labs offer hands-on experience in dealing with concepts and techniques covered in the course and the opportunity to compound and produce several dosage forms.
