Dr. Rachel Franks joined the Belmont faculty during the summer of 2010. She came to Belmont from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy where she served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Pharmacy Coordinator. Dr. Franks has also worked as a clinical pharmacist in the University of Florida Community Health Center and the Ambulatory Pharmacy at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center and as a community pharmacist at both Walgreens and Wal-mart Pharmacies.
Dr. Franks’ practice focus is ambulatory care. Her practice experience consists of providing disease state management, patient education and medication therapy management in both rural and urban settings. She has served as a preceptor for pharmacy practice residents and ambulatory care specialty residents, advance pharmacy practice experience students, as well as working professional Pharm.D. students. Her main practice interests include chronic disease prevention, diabetes management and indigent care.
Dr. Franks was a member of the inaugural class at Palm Beach Atlantic University Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy and graduated in 2005. She completed an ambulatory care residency and a teaching certificate program at the University of Florida.
