Parent & Family Weekend Schedule

We are thrilled to introduce to you PFW Presents, a series of virtual experiences that expand beyond one weekend and take place throughout fall semester. This series of monthly virtual events includes three parent-centric experiences aimed to equip parents with information and provide connection opportunities with campus community members, faculty and staff. The series will include invitations and links to join various other campus events and experiences hosted by our campus partners this fall. Check out the event list below to see what we have in store!

  • Rock the Vote at Belmont University: Nashville Colleges Celebrate Democracy
    09-22-2020 | 7:00 P.M. CDT | Virtual

    To celebrate National Voter Registration Day, Rock The Vote and Belmont University are partnering to stream a live concert event to encourage students to register to vote. Performers will include student and alumni acts from Belmont University, Fisk University, MTSU and Tennessee State University as well as a featured performance from Bren Joy and a headlining set from Moon Taxi, both Belmont alumni. “Rock The Vote at Belmont University: Nashville Colleges Celebrate Democracy” will stream live from Rock The Vote’s Facebook and YouTube on September 22 at 7:00pm CST. Viewers will receive voter registration information throughout the broadcast.

  • Living and Learning in a HyFlex World

    In this session, you will hear from key faculty and staff as we give an overview on the first few weeks of virtual/HyFlex classes and life on campus. Topics will include virtual and in-person learning at Belmont, living on campus, as well as health and wellness. We hope you’ll join the conversation!

  • Politics and Country Music

    Country music and politics have been linked since the 1800s. There have been country performers who have been elected to office, and country artists have lent their talents to politicians running for office. Historian, author, songwriter, record producer and Curb College Professor Don Cusic will discuss several moments throughout history where country music and politics have been linked.

  • Faculty Woodwind Quintet

    Join our very own Belmont faculty virtually from the McAfee Concert Hall for this one of a kind event featuring Carolyn Totaro on flute, Tara Johnson on horn, Dan Lochrie on clarinet, Rebecca Van de Ven on oboe and Doug-Yun Shankle on bassoon.

  • PFW Presents: Behind the Scenes (A Debate 2020 Experience)

    Belmont University is hosting the third and final presidential debate of the 2020 election cycle on October 22, 2020 from 8-9:30 p.m. Central. The debate, which will be moderated by NBC “Weekend Today” co-anchor Kristen Welker, is a highly anticipated occasion and we’d like to give you a special sneak peek on how it all comes together.   • PFW Presents: Preparing for Spring Semester

    As the fall semester comes to a close, families are preparing for the holiday season and gearing up for the start of the spring semester. In this session, key faculty, staff, and campus leaders will give an overview of what we anticipate spring semester will look like at Belmont.
