Susan B. Young
Susan B. Young, OTD, MA, OTR, FAOTA
Susan B. Young is an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy. She teaches courses in pediatrics, growth and development, ethics and management. Her specialty areas are in pediatrics, specifically sensor integration, and management. Susan owned a multidisciplinary private clinic for children before becoming Director of OT and PT at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for 11 years. Prior to coming to Belmont, she taught in the Occupational Therapy Program at Rockhurst University in Kansas City.
Susan teaches courses internationally on topics related to sensory integration and pediatrics and is a faculty member for the SIPT certification courses offered by Western Psychological Services. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of AOTA, a current member of AOTA and KOTA, a fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and a past winner of the Lindy Boggs award given by AOTA. She recently completed her clinical doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University.
