Jeanne Sowers is an Associate Professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at Belmont University. She has practiced as an occupational therapist for more than twenty years and has served in diverse roles within the profession. For the past twelve years, she has focused on the role of educator in occupational therapy programs in Kansas and South Dakota. As a practicing clinician, Jeanne's experience is in the area of adult physical rehabilitation in multiple settings. Her practice and research interests include the study of treatment techniques used to promote function in adults with neurological disorders as well as wellness for the physically challenged population. She has published and lectured at local, state, and national conferences on various subjects including the provision of occupational therapy in the hospital intensive care unit, ergonomics, and rotator cuff dysfunction.

Jeanne serves the Nashville community as a Board member for Homeplace, Inc., a group home sponsored by Belmont United Methodist Church.  She also serves as part of the health care team at Saddle-Up, a therapeutic horseback riding association.  Jeanne serves the professional OT community as the Continuing Education Chair for the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association.
