Designing an Activity Resource Manual and iPad Training Power Point for Empower Me Day Camp
The purpose of this culminating project was to advocate for the occupational health of the children who attend Empower Me Day Camp (EMDC), through the design of a resource manual to be used by camp counselors and volunteers. Empower Me Day Camp, located in Lebanon, Tennessee, is a non-profit organization providing programs to enhance the quality of life of children with various disabilities. The camp anticipates new additions to their facilities in the next few years that will include construction of a Splash pad, Garden of Dreams, sensory playground, sports court, and Miracle Field. The resource manual offers suggestions for developmentally appropriate activities that incorporate the new equipment. In addition, it addresses the activity needs of children with disabilities who will participate in those programs.
