Development of Curriculum to Support Inclusion at the Maryland Farms YMCA Youth Activity Center
The purpose of this residency project was to develop a curriculum that offers educational resources and activity suggestions to promote inclusive play at the Maryland YMCA for children with different abilities. The Maryland Farms YMCA Youth Activity Center (YAC) in Brentwood Tennessee provides after school care for all children age seven to twelve years old. The guide will be utilized to train new staff members on the importance of play, and to educate them regarding the use of social and environmental supports that promote inclusion of children with different needs into the existing curriculum.
