Dr. Christine Manville is an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy.  Her research interests include adults, adolescents, and children with mental illness; teenagers at risk in the public school system; teaching and learning in secondary and postsecondary education; and professional development.  She has been a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association since 1979.  She joined the Rhode Island Occupational Therapy Association in 1979 and served as the Administrative chair from 1997-1999.  Dr. Manville has also been part of the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association since 1986 and joined the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association in 2007.

Dr. Christine ManvilleDr. Manville brings considerable professional experience to her role as Assistant Professor.  From 2006-2007, she served as the Director of Creative Rehab Services at Natchaug Hospital.  In that role, Dr. Manville was a key provider of a regional system of care for children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling to cope with mental illness and substance abuse problems.  She was an Occupational Therapy Mental Health Consultant at St. Joseph Hospital for Specialty Care & Fatima Hospital from 2000-2007, working with inpatient adult and geriatric units.  From 1997-2006, Dr. Manville worked as the Pioneer Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director at the Community College of Rhode Island.  She also served as the Clinical Program Director of Psychiatric Services at St. Joseph Hospital, a product consultant for S&S Worldwide products, and as a Psychiatric Occupational Therapist at William W. Backus and Providence Veteran's Hospitals.
