Shelley Hix, OTD, MSOT, OTR/L, CAPS
Shelley Hix is an instructor of occupational therapy and serves as the academic fieldwork coordinator for both the MSOT and OTD programs. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University and her Masters of Science and Doctorate in Occupational Therapy both from Belmont University. Her professional experiences include five years of management in inpatient rehabilitation as well as practice in areas of acute care, mental health, inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, and home health. She currently practices at Southern Hills Medical Center.
Her interests are aging in place, home modification, and health and wellness.
Her professional memberships and service include the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and Leadership Donelson-Hermitage.
Shelley is a member of the National Association of Home Builders and is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS).
