Years worked in higher education
I have spent nine years working in higher education, including two years of graduate experience within Student Involvement, Student Activities, and advising Dance Marathon at the University of Tennessee. I served in the role of Assistant Director of Student Involvement and Intramurals Director for four years at Maryville College in Maryville, TN. In 2011, I came to Belmont University in the current role of Assistant Director of Student Engagement & Leadership Development where I oversee all recognized student organizations and advise the Belmont Student Activities Programming Board. I also assist in implementing programs for leadership development.
Why I chose to pursue a career in higher education
A career in higher education actually chose me after pursuing a job in professional baseball. Having worked with college students throughout my undergraduate experience, I felt called to be in a vocation I was passionate about and that would allow me to serve with my God-given talents. While the landscape of students I serve has changed in the nine years I have been in higher education, I continue to love the path God has me on at Belmont.
Something fun or unique about myself
I once won an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles by simply knowing way too much about television stars. See, television does pay off!
