Clinical Transfer Option

Transfer students who have completed more than three semesters (usually more than 36 credits) of college may be ready to enter directly into the clinical nursing coursework at Belmont.

To qualify for this option, you must have completed, at minimum, the following prerequisites:
          • An advanced mathematics course (3 credits)
          • A biology course with a lab (4 credits)
          • Human Anatomy & Physiology I (4 credits completed within 3 years of
               entry into the program)
          • Human Anatomy & Physiology II (4 credits completed within 3 years of
               entry into the program)
          • General Psychology (3 credits)
          • Lifespan Development or Developmental Psychology (3 credits)
          • Nutrition (3 credits)

In addition to these required prerequisites, it is highly recommended that you are prepared to transfer coursework that will meet Belmont’s general education requirements, particularly those which traditional students normally complete during the first two years of college, including:  English composition, first-year seminar, a Bible course, Introduction to Sociology, a fine arts course, a wellness course, and a public speaking course.  Other courses that may transfer to meet Belmont’s general education or nursing requirements include Abnormal Psychology, a comparative religion course, a second wellness course, and a humanities course.  Two general education courses – Junior Cornerstone Seminar and Third-Year Writing – must be completed at Belmont.
